Telehealth visits are now available for patients

Telehealth is a visit with your doctor or nurse practioner over a smart phone, tablet, or laptop.

Using video and audio, telehealth minimizes face-to-face contact, which is increasingly important during COVID-19.

Telehealth is NOT replacing our RNs, CNAs, or our volunteers. These individuals will still be handling medicine dosages, examining patients, visiting homes, and doing home care - this won’t stop because we always listen to our patients. Our nurses are the eyes and ears of the providers, and telehealth will serve as another way for providers to communicate directly with patients in lieu of in-person consultation.

Telehealth will help doctors and nurse practitioners to be more efficient and to monitor patients better, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic and social distancing.

how does telehealth work?

Patients will receive a video call from their doctor or nurse practitioner, being able to see them and discuss their clinical condition and how things are going, just like if the patient was in the office.

Providers can provide e-prescriptions through this service so that patients are still getting necessary medicines without any complications or disruptions.

During these conversations, providers can answer questions, discuss pain management, and assist with medicine dosage information.

what platform is being used for telehealth?

Alleo Health is implementing a platform called Synzi that allows for up to 6 people to be on the same call. This means doctors, nurses, the patient, and caregivers can all be looped in, making sure no one misses anything.

This platform is HIPAA compliant and encrypted. Synzi can be used for secure messaging, text messaging, emailing, or patient survey.

Both providers and patients can upload photos that can be put into patient records, which is helpful for photos of wounds, equipment, medicine, etc.

Who can use telehealth?

Telehealth is perfect for palliative care patients.

Also, this service is extremely helpful for patients in rural areas. It allows them to accomplish virtual visits, which eliminates worry about having to leave the house or making it to appointments on time.

Overall, this service is great for anyone who wants to eliminate drive time, be connected with providers in a more efficient way, and any patient that wants an easy way to connect with their provider without leaving their house.
