Hospice Care can help patients and their loved ones live the highest quality of life possible.
Hospice Care
Hospice—or end-of-life care—is personalized care that addresses the medical, emotional, and spiritual needs of individuals faced with a life-limiting illness and their families. The goal is to help terminally ill individuals live their final weeks and months with the highest quality of life possible.
Hospice care is provided by a team of experts that includes a physician, nurse, certified nurse assistant, social worker, chaplain, grief counselor and trained volunteers. Choosing to seek hospice services does not speed up or delay death. This type of care focuses on minimizing pain and maximizing comfort at the end of life. Hospice is not about giving up on life, but rather about making the most out of the time left to live.
Hospice of Chattanooga works to provide our patients with the opportunity to spend their final weeks and months in their home environment. In some instances, our patients require a higher level of care at the end of life and staying at home is not the best choice. We work with numerous local hospitals, nursing homes, and assisted living facilities to ensure that our patients who require a higher level of care have that option.
